Islamic Nishapur Glazed Pottery Bowl - 10th century

A NISHAPUR SLIP PAINTED POTTERY BOWL, Persia, 10TH CENTURY AD.
Of deep form, underglaze painted to interior in black with a hatched design and to walls with six lobes with spots and abstract vegetal designs .
Produced in the prominent Silk Road city of Nishapur during its peak as a political and economic center for the Seljuk rulers (10th and 12th centuries). Medieval Islamic art. Restored but complete. 20 cm diameter.
