Pair of two oval floral miniature paintings on canvas, oil on canvas, set in ornate pierced gilded frames in Baroque/Rococo style, dating from 1950–1960, with external dimensions 28×19×3 cm and internal 22×15 cm, made in Italy, in good condition with only light signs of wear and age.
Description from the seller
Pair of charming oval miniatures depicting floral subjects, set in elegant pierced frames in gilded composite, richly ornamented with volutes, acanthus leaves, and rocaille motifs in a late-19th-century taste.
The two handmade painted miniatures depict floral compositions with a strong decorative impact: one with delicate blue flowers and violets in fresh, springlike tones, the other with a warmer, more enveloping bouquet of roses and small polychrome flowers, on a dark background that enhances depth and chromatic brilliance. The brushwork is lively and tactile, with a spontaneous painterly rendered quality that lends movement and poetry to the whole.
The frames, in a Barocchetto/Rococo style, feature a luminous gilding that dialogues perfectly with the colors of the paintings, creating a harmonious and scenographic whole. The undulating, openwork profile contributes to a sense of visual lightness, making these pieces ideal both in classical settings and in eclectic or romantic interiors.
Objects of great decorative charm, perfect for enriching a wall, boiserie, a reading nook, or a room with a refined style, capable of evoking the intimate atmosphere of period homes and the taste for refined detailing.
Good overall condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age that attest to its authenticity and history.
Proper packaging and trackable shipping throughout Europe.
