A polychrome barbotine faience pitcher in the post‑war 1950s–1960s style, signed Saint Clément and produced by Keller & Guérin, with a heights of 34 cm, depth 14 cm and width 13 cm, in good to very good condition.
Description from the seller
Polychrome barbotine ceramic pitcher with a zoomorphic motif, signed Saint Clément (mark under the base with model number 7499), manufactured by Keller & Guérin (Lorraine, France), typical production of the 1950s–1960s, vintage animalier barbotine style.
Figurative model representing a duck (stylized mallard) in an upright posture, head held high and beak open forming the pouring neck. Made in slip with manual application of liquid colored pastes to achieve a highly realistic textured relief: plumage modeled in subtle gradients, natural drips and organic nuances. Bright high-contrast glaze: head in deep blue-green, neck and body in warm terracotta orange, belly and base in saturated emerald green. The handle is sculpted in the shape of a green wing, the webbed feet and feather details finely modeled in relief for a pronounced three-dimensional effect.
Precise dimensions

Iconic item of postwar French barbotine faience, both decorative and functional (a pitcher for water, wine, or syrup) and highly prized by collectors of animal-themed faience and retro-kitsch style.
Secure and fully insured shipping via Bpost. Reinforced and meticulously packaged (double box, individual padding in foam or thick bubble wrap, reinforced protection of the spout, handle, and reliefs to prevent any contact).
