Neogothic molded-stone column from Spain, dating to 1910–1920, assembled in three parts (base, shaft, capital), 75 cm high and 30 cm wide, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Neo-Gothic molded stone column, dating to the early decades of the 20th century. Executed in three assembled parts — base, shaft, and capital — it is in excellent condition, with no visible cracks or significant losses.
The shaft, cylindrical in section, stands out for its relief carving with interlaced motifs that evoke wickerwork, typical of the historicist reinterpretation of Gothic. The base, with a stepped profile, combines convex moldings and fluting that provide visual stability and architectural weight. The capital, inspired by plant forms, shows stylized elements that recall acanthus or thistle leaves, treated with sobriety and symmetry.
The column is set in a natural stone environment, possibly a cloister or monastic courtyard, which reinforces its contemplative and decorative character. Its proportion and ornamentation suggest a more ornamental than structural use, typical of historicist architecture applied to gardens, courtyards, or spaces of contemplation.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
