Regards d'Acier, a photography book by Sebastião Salgado, Josef Koudelka and Harry Gruyaert, signed by Gruyaert on the title page, first French edition published in 1988 by Sollac/Magnum, softcover, 128 pages, 30.5 × 21.5 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Exceptionally signed copy on the front page by Harry Gruyaert, unique and unobtainable in a signed copy (signatures at the head of chapters are facsimiles, the photographers’ signatures reproduced on a metal plaque on the cover are also facsimiles). 128 pages and 57 photographs in black and white and in color by Sebastião Salgado, Harry Gruyaert, and Josef Koudelka, printed full page or double page with captions for the photographs at the end of each of the three photographic sequences, texts in French presenting the Sollac company of Dunkirk and each of the three photographers. Soft cover (without dust jacket as issued). In excellent condition.
This book is a remarkable corporate/industrial photography book bringing together three of the most prestigious photographers, and the cover with its small metal plaque is absolutely original. The book gathers 21 black-and-white photographs by Sebastião Salgado, 21 color photographs by Harry Gruyaert, and 15 panoramic black-and-white photographs by Josef Koudelka printed on double pages.
Sollac, acronym for SOciété Lorraine de LAminage Continu, is an old steel company founded in 1948 that marked the industrial history of Lorraine after World War II. After the Usinor-Sacilor merger, the Dunkerque factories of the Usinor group, and the Fos-sur-Mer factory (Solmer) also took the name “Sollac” which was abandoned in 2005 for the name ArcelorMittal.
Book from my personal collection, in excellent overall condition, with very light soiling of the white cover (see photo), book kept with the greatest care. Very efficient protected shipping and internationally tracked postage guaranteed. In case of multiple purchases, group shipping is possible with reimbursement of excess postage paid via Paypal.
