Vintage wooden and brass table clock, circa 1950–1960, attributed to Jacob Palmtag, with an electric Nedklok 220 V movement and no striking.
Description from the seller
Vintage wooden table clock – attributed to Jacob Palmtag – circa the 1950s–1960s
A special and characterful vintage table clock, crafted in solid wood with a sculptural, asymmetrical design. The design is attributed to Jacob Palmtag, known for his expressive mid-century designs where craftsmanship, form and material come together.
The clock has a warm wooden front with inlaid brass numerals and indices, combined with slender brass hands. The lightly angled form and the elegant, tapering base give the object a clearly mid-century modern character, with subtle influences from post-war Scandinavian and Dutch design movements.
At the rear there is an original Nedklok electric unit (220/240V), indicating production in the Netherlands. This type of clock mechanism was widely used in the 1950s–1960s and is known for its durability.
A decorative and collectible object that comes into its own as both a functional clock and a design object.
