Rafa López, a Spanish artist, presents an original mixed‑media painting titled BERLINTRAMUROS - XL from 2010–2020, in multicolor acrylic, spray, marker and ink on canvas, 73 by 97 cm, signed and in excellent condition, sold directly by the artist, unframed and shipped rolled with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Original, unique work. Mixed media (acrylic, spray, marker, ink) on canvas.
A painting crafted from visceral intensity and urban rhythm. An immersion in historical memory and contemporary energy.
With clear influences from 1980s Neo-Expressionism and the force of “Bad Painting,” “Berlintramuros” tells the story of a scarred city. The canvas acts as a wall where past and present coexist: the solemnity of the Brandenburg Gate beside the heavy machinery of the war-era past; urban fauna in opposition to the historical human figure. It is a dialogue between what was destroyed and what has been reborn.
Gesture-based, intuitive painting that does not seek academic correction but expressive truth. The artist takes advantage of accident, rapid brushwork, and color saturation to convey the noise and vitality of the modern metropolis. A horror vacui that traps the viewer and compels them to explore every corner of the canvas.
The artwork is delivered unframed (professional packaging, rolled in a sturdy transport tube) to ensure its safety and reduce shipping costs. Your local framer should re-stretch it and mount it on a standard wooden stretcher frame.
The indicated measurements (73x97 cm) are those of the painting when stretched and mounted on a stretcher. The actual dimensions of the canvas are larger to allow its side mounting (painted edges).
Hand-signed on the bottom left edge and on the back. Includes the artist's certificate of authenticity.
