Bart Hamelink, Love Arrives Like a Black Cat, an original acrylic painting (2026) in modern pop culture style, signed, rolled without a frame for transport, with certificate of authenticity, measuring 117 cm by 215 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This work shows two figures and a black cat, against a bright red background. The figures stand close to each other. The cat sits beside them. As if he had always been there.
The sentence on the canvas reads:
“Love wears red, but arrives like a black cat.”
Love often looks warm and appealing, but it can arrive unexpectedly, quietly and darkly. Not loud, not neatly announced. Like a black cat: suddenly there, and you can’t imagine life without it.
The black cat here is not about bad luck, but about truth, intuition, and loyalty. To persevere, even when it stings. The red background enhances the sense of tension between desire and reality.
The work is painted in a direct and unpolished manner, with strong contrasts and a simple visual language. It leaves room for the viewer to feel and interpret for themselves.
These are mood photos.
The work is delivered without a steel frame (rolled up), to reduce transport costs and minimize the risk of damage.
Including certificate of authenticity.
