Description from the seller

Antique decorative figurine, dating from the late 19th century (circa 1880–1900), depicting a young boy playing a flute in a naturalistic pose.

The sculpture is made of antimony (spelter) with original gilt finish, presenting a warm golden patina developed naturally over time. The figure shows fine detailing in the facial expression, hair, clothing folds, and musical instrument, characteristic of late 19th-century European decorative sculpture.

The boy is standing barefoot on a richly decorated rococo-style base, with scrolling feet and textured ground surface. The composition is well-balanced and expressive, intended as an interior decorative object rather than an outdoor sculpture.

This type of figure was popular in France and Central Europe during the Belle Époque period, often inspired by pastoral and musical themes.
