A rare first edition published in Parma (the original was published in Rome in 1718) of the principal work by the bishop and jurist Francesco Maria Pitoni (who died in 1729), known primarily for his contributions to the field of canon law. It is a systematic collection of ecclesiastical disputes and decisions of the Sacred Roman Rota.

Complete opera in 2 volumes.
Volume I: pp. (VIII), CCXLVIII, 466, (II). Complete.

Copies with the pages in overall good condition, with the usual signs of wear and age. Some dog-ears at the corners of the pages and a few stains and damp spots. Some pages more browned.
Charming contemporary bindings in full stiff parchment with handwritten titles on the spines, with some wear to the corners but solid and well-preserved overall. White endpapers.
