This 1925 colourful edition is highly valued by collectors for its artistic and physical quality.

Lovely and complete two books of the first published novel by the English author Jane Austen. Each volume is illustrated with coloured frontispiece and 9 full-page colour plates by A. Wallis Mills. Introduction by the literary critic R. Brimley Johnson.

Published by George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd, London, 1925. Publisher’s original matching set in blue texture boards with navy suede spines and corners. Spines in six compartments with bands decorated in gilt, gilt lettering to second compartments. Top page edges gilt.

Condition
The books are beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. External covers are clean and in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and spine ends. Internally; the books in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at the gutter. Some foxing to page edges and on the margin of some pages. A closed tear to one page only as you can see from pictures. Text is bright and illustrations in nice condition (Nice Collectible Books) (Please see pictures).
