A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Joannes Rota fecit Cremona anno 1807. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks, new ebony set up, new bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish with some tears shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 587 mm and the back 354 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 110 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. Full size. The sound is very sweet, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. Shipping worldwide
