AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Large and beautiful open face (Lepine) pocket watch with “Prunk” nickel silver case with a hunting scene on the back in good condition, signed DOXA on dial, movement and watch case, Switzerland (Le Locle), ca. 1910. Diameter 55mm (without pendant), height 14,7mm, weight 115g.

The nickel silver watch case is fully decorated throughout. The case back features a finely executed hunting scene depicting two hunters carrying rifles accompanied by a dog. Adjacent to the dog, the scene is signed “Holy (Frères)”. At the time, Holy Frères was regarded as the highest-quality manufacturer of relief-decorated cases in Saint-Imier, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. Consequently, despite the presence of a “DOXA Metal Argentan Depose” signature on the inside of the back cover, the case itself was manufactured by Holy Frères.

Original enamel dial with red hour marker scale, signed “DOXA”, with a few barely visible hairline cracks. Original blued steel hands. Presumed original mineral crystal with a pronounced edge bevel, in very good condition, showing only a tiny chip at 3 o’clock.

The “DOXA” signed movement is decorated with Geneva stripes (Côtes de Genève) and is in excellent overall condition. It has been recently cleaned and re-oiled and runs reliably with an accuracy of approximately ±1 minute per 24 hours, depending on position. Toward the end of the mainspring’s power, the balance amplitude decreases. Power reserve is an excellent 38 hours.

Fast and reliable shipping via DHL EXPRESS WITH TRACKING (Austria and Turkey: Austrian Post Registered, insured & tracked). Pictures are part of the description, customs duties and additional expenses for shipping outside the EU (European Union) shall be borne by the buyer.
