Pair of antique copper pourers from the late 19th to early 20th century (1880–1910), comprising two items of different sizes in the same model, hammered and polished copper with natural patina, hinged lids, riveted side handles, heights 19 cm and 14 cm, widths 17 cm and 13 cm, diameters 13 cm and 10 cm, provenance Belgium, in good general condition with age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Pair of antique copper ewers – 19th / early 20th century
A beautiful set consisting of two antique copper ewers, different in size but identical in style, suggesting a coordinated service (a milk jug and a small coffee pot or cream pitcher).
The pieces present an elegant squat form, resting on a small pedestal, with a riveted copper side handle and a hinged lid topped by a decorative scroll-like knob. The spouts are well defined, characteristic of the meticulous utilitarian productions of the late 19th century.
The copper is hammered and polished, with a natural antique patina, bearing witness to age and use. Traces of oxidation and signs of time are visible, without diminishing the charm or the sturdiness of the piece.
