Simon Kramer, born July 2, 1940 in Amsterdam, died December 30, 2015, was a Dutch visual artist, painter, draughtsman, watercolorist, poster and set designer.
Training
Simon Kramer received his training in the 1950s at the Institute for Arts and Crafts Education in Amsterdam and in the 1960s at the Vrije Academie de Leeuwenburg in Amsterdam, where he was taught by Gerrit van het Net.
Work activities:
Simon Kramer later taught at the Vrije Academie de Leeuwenburg in Amsterdam (where he had also completed his training), at the Wackers Academie in Amsterdam, and he started an art lending service.
He also designed scenery in the late sixties and in the seventies for various theaters and theatre groups, such as: for the Amsterdamsche Studenten Toneelvereeniging for the production “Eramuze or the Sof of Folly,” for Stichting Toneelgroep Studio for the production “And even the flowers were captivated,” for N.V. Limelight Theaterproductions for the production “Oh! Calcutta!,” for Holland Festival for the production “Cain and Abel,” and for Theatergroep Wederzijds for the production “The tellers of Krentensteyn.”

Simon Kramer was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists BBK Amsterdam and of Arti et Amicitiae Amsterdam.

Simon Kramer has exhibited his work among others at: the Exhibition Center Aemstelle in Amstelveen, Gallery d’Eendt in Amsterdam, Gallery Krikhaar in Paris, Gallery Delta in Rotterdam, Art Fair Rai in Amsterdam, Line Art in Ghent, and Kunsthandel Jan Juffermans in Utrecht.
