Description from the seller
DUCK IT
Exclusive Catawiki Edition by Inna Etuvgi
Image size 39.5 x 39.5 cm; total paper size 43 x 44 cm.
In "DUCK IT," Inna Etuvgi explores the phenomenon of "forced escapism." Created during a period of deep personal isolation and physical exhaustion, this work represents a paradoxical cognitive response to burnout.
Instead of translating fatigue through anxiety, Etuvgi sublimates it into the sterile, sun-drenched tranquility of a pool. The title is a witty play on words, granting the viewer the ultimate permission to say "Duck it" to their responsibilities and simply glide across a mirror-like surface. It acts as a window to a therapeutic space, where inner silence triumphs over external chaos.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi artist whose work defines the concept of Cybernetic Animism—a bridge between indigenous Arctic intuition and technical precision. Raised in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, Etuvgi explores the shared "soul" of natural ecosystems and digital algorithms.
Living with Aphantasia—the inability to visualize mental images—Etuvgi uses her camera and Generative AI as a "visual prosthesis" to externalize deep emotional landscapes. Her macro photography magnifies nature’s smallest details, urging a shift from a human-centered worldview to one of interconnectedness.
Internationally recognized as an Arte Laguna Prize finalist (Venice) and a recipient of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee grant, Etuvgi’s work is held in private collections worldwide. As art critic Tabish Khan notes: “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
