Bookends (2) - Wood - Monks

A pair of carved wooden bookends depict two monks, sitting on a stack of books, reading large books that are open in front of them.
This style of bookends, known as Black Forest carvings, typically came from West Germany in the mid-century. The Black Forest region is home to the cuckoo clock and is world renowned for its fabulous wood carvings.
