Minuit et midi, original edition, first edition, by Henri Martin, published in Paris by Renduel in 1832, bound in half leather, 20 x 14 cm, 438 pages, in French; copy includes a photograph of the author pasted to the verso of the title page and a signed autograph letter to Paul Lacroix.

The original edition of this historical novel about the figure of the Fronde Tancrède de Rohan, which will be reissued under this title in 1855. An copy studded with a photograph of the author pasted to the verso of the title and with a signed autograph letter to Paul Lacroix, the Bibliophile Jacob, with whom Henri Martin would publish the first volume of Histoire de France the following year. He ends his letter, indeed — after giving reassuring news of his wife — by apologizing for not yet having finished "ses Gaulois".
