Rafa López presents an original, unique panoramic painting titled '¡QUÉ VIENE, QUE VIENE! - XXL', a mixed-media work in Neo-Expressionist Pop Surrealism on canvas (77 x 183 cm) signed by hand and with a certificate of authenticity, produced in Spain between 2010 and 2020, depicting popular culture, unframed and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Original, unique work. Mixed media (acrylic, spray, marker, oil sticks, ink) on canvas. Panoramic format: 77 x 183 cm. Thickness: 7 cm.
In 'HERE IT COMES, HERE IT COMES!' Rafa López unfurls a vibrant and chaotic narrative frieze. The panoramic format works as a contemporary altarpiece or an expanded comic strip, where symbols crowd together, seemingly heralding an imminent event.
The work is an explosion of "Pop Surrealism" mixed with the urgency of graffiti.
Across the canvas, classical iconographies reinterpreted with elements of urban culture coexist.
The central figure, surrounded by question marks, seems trapped in the midst of this dreamlike revelation, between doubt and astonishment.
It's a loud and electric painting, where saturated color (pinks, yellows, blues) fights against a dark background. The artist uses the "horror vacui" to convey the saturation of stimuli in the modern world, creating a piece that is at once a pictorial celebration and an ironic warning.
Due to its special format (77x183 cm), the artwork is delivered without a stretcher (professional packaging, rolled in a sturdy transport tube). This greatly facilitates international shipping and guarantees the painting’s integrity. Your local framer will be able to mount it easily on a custom-made wooden stretcher.
The indicated measurements are those of the piece when stretched. The canvas has extra painted margins to allow for a perfect mounting, with the image continuing onto the edges.
Hand-signed on the lower left edge and on the back. Includes the artist's certificate of authenticity.
