Description from the seller
Vintage Genuine Fur Coat – Echt Pelz – Austrian Origin – c. 1980s
Description
Authentic vintage women’s genuine fur coat, dating to the mid-1980s, with Austrian manufacture, although the piece was sold within the former Yugoslav market. The coat bears a German-language label “Echt Pelz” (meaning real fur), a designation commonly used by Austrian and German furriers during this period.
Crafted from genuine rabbit fur, the coat features a classic patchwork panel construction, typical of high-quality Central European fur craftsmanship of the era. The natural brown tones with lighter highlights give the garment depth and a distinctive vintage appearance.
The interior is fully lined with 100% acetate, and the original woven maker’s label with lion emblem remains intact, indicating production by a traditional regional furrier rather than mass manufacturing.
The coat is accompanied by its original purchase invoice dated 1986, confirming authenticity, period, and provenance.
