Two antique gilt bronze and marble-based candelabras from France, dating to 1930–1940 in the Louis XV rococo style, each 29 cm high, 20 cm wide and 14 cm deep, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
These two gilded candelabras from the first half of the 20th century are an exquisite reinterpretation of the Louis XV style, where sinuous ornamentation and a taste for organic forms take absolute prominence. They are made of bronze with a gold wash that enhances every curve and relief, giving them a warm, bright, and clearly aristocratic presence.
Each candelabrum rises on a polished reddish marble base, a noble material that provides visual weight and physical stability. The contrast between stone and golden metal underscores the richness of the whole, recalling the material combinations typical of French 18th‑century furniture and decorative objects.
The bodies of the candelabra are rich in scrolls, stylized leaves, and vegetal motifs that wind from the base up to the upper arms. These arms, three on each piece, open gracesque asymmetrically, creating a fluid movement characteristic of Rococo. The candle cups, also ornamented, cap the composition with a balance between fantasy and elegance.
The ensemble conveys luxury, theatricality, and a refinement typical of palatial interiors. They are pieces designed not only to illuminate but to decorate and draw the eye, perfect for classical environments, decorative arts collections, or spaces seeking a touch of historical opulence.
Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
