Italian ceramic ashtray from the Rimini Blue series by designer Aldo Londi for Bitossi.

Hand-turned ceramics in white heat-resistant clay made with manual engraving. Aldo Londi (1911-2003) was a painter, sculptor, and mainly a ceramicist. He designed objects that still form part of the history of Italian ceramics.

He was born in Montelupo Fiorentino. At the age of eleven, he began working for Fanciullacci’s workshop, where he learned the traditional techniques of making pottery.
