Description from the seller

This photograph by Zachariah Szabo (b. 1989, USA) comes from his Beanie Baby–themed series, in which he stages domestic scenes of abundance, obsession and nostalgia using 1990s collectible toys. A young man sits on a bare mattress, joyfully immersed in a sea of Beanie Babies, transforming a simple bedroom into a humorous yet poignant reflection on the emotional and economic value we attach to mass-produced objects.

The work was first exhibited and sold at the “10:10 – Selected Photographers from Ten Leading American Photographers” exhibition, presented in Rishon Lezion and Tel Aviv as part of the International Photography Festival in April 2014, underscoring its strong early reception within an international curatorial context. Szabo, who holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and has shown widely in the United States, is recognised for his careful use of staging, colour and gesture to explore themes of memory, queer identity and the afterlife of popular culture.

The photograph is printed on museum-grade archival paper.

The photograph is unique print in one copy.

The work is sold unframed. The photograph is sent in the hardened package by trace and tracked post.
Please note that when ordered from the EU, the photo is shipped from the EU-located gallery.
