Pair of antique gilt-brass wall sconces – Rococo Revival style, circa 1900
A refined pair of antique gilded-brass wall sconces, richly decorated with elegant volutes, vegetal motifs and stylized foliage, attributed to the Rococo Revival style.
The wall sconces are datable to around 1900, a period in which the Rococo taste of the eighteenth century is reinterpreted in a nineteenth‑century key, with undulating shapes, flowing lines, and a scenographic yet harmonious decoration.
The original gold gilding is still very well preserved and widely present across the entire surface. The objects have been cleaned carefully, deliberately leaving faint traces of patina and ancient dirt, testimony to their age and the authenticity of the wall appliques.
