19th Century - France. - Universal Exhibition France 1855 "JAPY" - Exceptional large gilt bronze clock, Allegory of Agriculture, Large plow horse 5.5" x 8" at the watering trough with its master, numerous agricultural implements (scythe, rake, flail, pitchfork, woven baskets with ribbons, sheaves of wheat, acanthus leaves, floral frieze, grapes, scrolls and palmettes). *** All the clock's components are removable with their original nuts. - To the left and right of the dial, Two pairs of doves facing each other, perched on a flowering vine. - Mechanical movement 8 days with key and eight-day pendulum, signed by the French Master clockmaker "JAPY 1855". The original 1855 "JAPY" movement bears the number 604, as does its pendulum. - Works well, strikes the hours and half-hours on its bronze bell. Comes with its pendulum, bell, and key. - White enamel dial with black Roman numerals and minute markers; note a slight scratch at the entrance to one of the winding mechanisms. - Height: 36 cm / 15" - Width: 40 cm / 16" - Depth: 12 cm / 5" - Weight: 5.300 kilograms / 187 oz. *** Delivery with invoice and certificate of authenticity. *** Secure postal shipping via registered mail with insurance and tracking number.
