Description from the seller
La Gazzetta of July 10, 2006, dedicated to Italy's triumph at the FIFA World Cup in the Berlin final on July 9!
The Azzurri win on penalties: it’s their fourth title. France go ahead in the 7th minute with Zidane from a penalty, Materazzi equalises in the 19th. It’s decided by a miss from Trezeguet, Grosso seals it.
Italy are world champions for the fourth time! The Azzurri beat France 6-4 on penalties in the final in Berlin. They decided Trezeguet's penalty off the crossbar and Grosso's final one (into the net). The French went ahead after only 7 minutes, with a penalty awarded for Materazzi's foul on Malouda converted by Zidane (with a 'panenka' that struck the crossbar and then went in). But the men of Lippi equalised in the 19th minute with a header from Materazzi on a Pirlo corner. No goals in the remainder of the match, which saw the French dominate play more, all to be decided in extra time. In the second extra period Zidane was sent off for a reaction (a headbutt to Materazzi's chest). Then the penalties: Pirlo scored, Wiltord scored, Materazzi scored, Trezeguet hit the crossbar, De Rossi scored, Abidal scored, Del Piero scored, Sagnol scored, Grosso scored.
