A French Art Déco pendant lamp from the 1920s–30s with a gilt brass frame and an artisan crystal tulip, measuring 26 cm wide, 37 cm high and 26 cm deep, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
This lamp from the 1920s–1930s is a magnificent example of Art Deco aesthetics applied to home lighting, where functionality was joined with a strong sense of elegance and modernity.
The piece features an artisanal crystal tulip shade with a geometric relief that captures and disperses light in a characteristic way: the beam fragments into soft flashes, creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere, typical of Art Deco lamps that sought to transform light into a decorative element in itself. The crystal, crafted with precision, reveals a pattern that combines symmetry and texture, two essential traits of design from the era.
The upper mount, made of gold-toned brass, provides a refined contrast between the metallic shine and the transparency of the crystal. Its ornamental details—fine, sinuous, with a hint of floral and geometric—evoke the transition between late Modernism and early Art Deco, when the lines still retained some softness but were already moving toward a purification of form.
The lamp is in good condition and works properly, although, as is the case with many antique pieces, it would be advisable to rewire it to adapt it to current electrical standards without altering its authenticity. Its weight, the quality of its materials, and the delicacy of the shade give it a decorative presence, capable of imparting character and a historic touch to any room.
It's a lamp that doesn't just illuminate: it also tells the story of an era fascinated by design, craftsmanship, and the beauty of light.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
