Vs. is the second studio album by American rock band Pearl Jam, released on October 19, 1993, in the United States (October 11, 1993, in the UK).
It marked the band's first collaboration with producer Brendan O'Brien and their first album featuring drummer Dave Abbruzzese.
The album features a raw, aggressive sound compared to their debut Ten, with a mix of heavy rock, grunge, and alternative rock.
Notable tracks include "Go", "Animal", "Daughter", "Dissident", "Rearviewmirror", and the acoustic ballads "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town" and "Indifference".
Upon release, Vs. sold 950,378 copies in its first five days, setting a record for the highest first-week sales since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991— a record it held for five years.
The album spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the longest for any Pearl Jam album, and has been certified 7× platinum by the RIAA for U.S. sales of over seven million copies.
