Ralf Altrieth, hand-signed, unique artwork titled “Enfant éternel - XXL”, an acrylic painting on canvas (180 x 155 cm) created in 2021 in France, Original edition, in excellent condition, sold directly by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
This painting is part of the artist's latest works from the 2021 period, a distinct cycle in the artist's journey, marked by a density of figures on transparent and vibrant backgrounds.
Entitled 'Enfant éternel' (eternal child), it is a unique work, directly from the artist's studio. Entirely painted by hand in acrylic on canvas, it is signed on the back and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Very good condition.
The photos are taken in natural light, as faithfully as possible to the true hues. The situational visuals allow appreciation of the painting's dimensions and physical presence. Proportions are respected.
Created without any preliminary sketch, the composition is built in the gesture, through successive adjustments, until reaching a 'rightness': a balance between instinctive energy and controlled structure. This exploration gives the work a living energy and a strong presence.
With its monumental format of 180 x 155 cm, the painting commands a presence. At this scale, the viewer does not skim the image: they engage with it. The free circulation of imaginary figures, underscored by bright pink lines on a semi-transparent vibrant background, creates an immediate and spontaneous energy. The canvas acts physically and establishes a dialogue with the person who contemplates it.
German painter living in the south of France, trained from adolescence and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nürtingen (Germany) at the end of the 1980s, Ralf Altrieth has been exhibiting for more than thirty years in France and Germany, notably at MAC Paris, the Théo de Seine gallery (Paris), and the Hartmut Beck gallery (Erlangen). His works are today in private collections around the world.
"Painting is something greater than myself. It allows me to go further, to see more. I now feel that by painting I create myself." (Ralf Altrieth)
