The figure shows Maitreya in the typical contemplative sitting pose. One hand is brought to the chin, emphasizing the thoughtful pose. The Bodhisattva sits on a round seat that rests on a rectangular, decoratively crafted pedestal. The calm facial features and the balanced composition give the sculpture a meditative aura.
