Description from the seller
An ancient religious triptych in carved wood, 'Virgin and Child', chromolithograph, 20th century.
An antique wooden Catholic devotional triptych, carved and engraved, opening on two hinged panels, 20th century.
The structure takes on an ogival, arch-shaped form in Neo-Gothic style.
The two doors are decorated with geometric and ornamental motifs created with a roulette. Each leaf is fitted with an original metal ring that serves to close. The whole rests on a moulded base and also has a suspension ring on the back for wall hanging.
In the center there is a depiction of the Virgin and Child, a polychrome reproduction in the Italian Renaissance style.
The image is not a painting but an old chromolithograph affixed to a wooden panel and varnished in period style, a technique typical of domestic devotional objects made in Italy and Southern Europe.
This is a small home altar intended for family prayer, an authentic object of popular religious art.
An authentic antique decorative and collectible item.
Good overall condition for its age.
Normal wear and aging due to use: rubbing on edges, minor color loss, and signs of time.
The central image is well preserved.
Functional hinges and shutters.
