Description from the seller

“What the Water Keeps” XL is a visual artwork by Nik Haku, where a female figure rises from a dark, liquid expanse, her bare shoulders and chest dissolving into a slow-moving body of water. Light fractures across the surface like memory under pressure, blurring the boundary between skin and current. Her gaze drifts inward, detached, as if listening to something beneath the tide. The body is not submerged but becoming—neither held nor released—suspended in a state where form softens and identity flows outward into the surrounding depth.

Artist’s Statement:

This work reflects on surrender without collapse. I was drawn to the idea of immersion as a quiet negotiation rather than an act of loss. The water does not consume the figure; it carries her, reshaping perception while preserving presence. The nudity here is elemental, stripped of narrative, allowing the body to exist as terrain rather than subject. What matters is not what emerges from the water, but what remains unresolved within it.

Artwork details:

• Limited Edition: 1/10

Printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Premium Silk Paper and is sold unframed.
Its elegant finish and subtle texture give it a sophisticated appearance, with vibrant, rich colors. The paper’s natural resistance also helps protect the print from fingerprints and scratches.
Each piece is individually numbered and signed, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
The print is carefully rolled, packaged, and shipped via tracked and insured express courier from Spain to destinations worldwide.

About the artist:

I'm Nik Haku, a visual artist and photographer exploring the space between the real and the altered.
My work spans portraiture and landscapes, starting from photography and evolving through AI and digital manipulation. I aim to create images that blur the line between memory, identity, and imagined space.
