Large neo-Gothic altar cross – silvered – circa 1930 – 40 cm

Imposing and richly executed Neo-Gothic standing crucifix from the period ca. 1880–1930. This 40 cm high altar cross is made of silvered metal and is characterized by its refined detailing and harmonious proportions.

The cross features elegant cloverleaf terminal ends and a finely modeled Corpus Christi with an INRI plaque. The heavily worked, decoratively embellished base with graceful feet gives the whole piece a stately and authentic appearance.

INRI = Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews

Height: approx. 40 cm
Material: silver-plated metal (not sterling silver)
Style: Neo-Gothic
Condition: good condition, silvering intact with light, age-related signs of wear
