Description from the seller
MEDSAN - "Eternal Frida" Handmade! unique work
Original and unique work (1/1). Painting and mixed media on canvas, mounted on a wooden frame.
Dimensions : 40x40 cm.
Hand-signed by the artist Medsan.
With "Eternal Frida", Medsan pays vibrant homage to the absolute icon of Mexican art, Frida Kahlo. Far from classic representations, the artist here opts for a decidedly contemporary graphic approach. Frida's face is sculpted by a play of wavering black lines, recalling the technique of engraving or the aesthetic of the "halftone" stencil. This powerful visual treatment contrasts beautifully with the hazy background, an ethereal gradient blending peach, pink, and sky blue tones. Medsan captures here the strength of the artist's gaze while enveloping it in poetic softness. It is a work that marries the modernity of Street Art with the timelessness of a legendary figure.
The Artist: Medsan is an artist rooted in urban and contemporary culture. His artistic approach is characterized by total freedom in the choice of media: he layers, scratches, and bombards his canvases to create depth and movement.
Inspired by the great figures of history and pop culture, he appropriates them to turn them into current symbols. His style is a bold fusion between the classicism of portraiture and the energy of graffiti.
About Atelier Joconde: This artwork is presented by Atelier Joconde, a space of living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true site of artistic production, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture bringing together three talents: Le Yack, a figurative painter with cinematic influences; Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting and modern iconography; and Neo Pablo, engaged in an instinctive search between abstract art and brut art. Each artwork is conceived, realized and followed within the studio, guaranteeing authenticity and gallery-quality.
