News about the artist
Laura Muolo, born in 1975, is a Milanese by birth and a Rimini native by adoption. She has been approaching art as a self-taught artist since 2013. Her initial medium is graphite, with which she immediately seeks to achieve the realism of faces, later exploring other mediums such as pastel and painting.
He participates in numerous group exhibitions across Italy and internationally, and also presents his works in important Italian museums. His works are part of several private collections around the world. Four solo exhibitions so far. He collaborated on the creation of the cover of a poetry book in 2015 and on the cover of a philosophy book in 2023.
Winner and finalist in several artistic competitions, at the national and international level.
Laura describes her work as follows: “I prefer oil painting for its reflective nature: it allows me to build the image step by step, changing, sanding, refining. Sometimes I use colored pencil on cardboard to capture the essence of the subject right away, in a direct and instinctive way. My style is realistic, but my painting tells inner worlds, hidden emotions and stories to decipher.”
My works move between dreamlike landscapes and figures immersed in their own thoughts, accompanied by shadows that reveal what is unseen: desires, fears, memories. Each scene is born from photographs of young subjects and shapes itself through symbols, objects, and animals that give voice to a memory or a deep feeling. Painting, for me, is a journey into the dimension of the unspoken.
Laura collaborates with the Ranarossa galleries in Modena and LoyeloArtGallery in Volterra.
