Peter Stahr - City Dreams

In this surreal city, reality and fiction merge. In the foreground, an abstract cityscape is visible, seamlessly transitioning into a sea with a coastline lying behind it. When you look at the picture, the gaze is drawn from the hectic foreground to the calming horizon. For me, the image and the title express my longing for calm and nature amid the often hectic and stressful urban life.
The painting was exhibited in 2023 in solo exhibitions in Göttingen and Bad Hersfeld, and in 2024 at the ARTe art fairs in Konstanz and Wiesbaden.
It has a slim shadow-gap frame made of black-blue stained wood. In addition, the sides of the painting are painted, so it can be hung without a frame. The painting is signed on both the front and the back and ready to hang. The surface of the painting is coated with a UV-protected varnish.
