Description from the seller
"Estudio sobre masa y color" se articula como una meditación visual sobre la forma y la presencia. En un espacio despojado de referencias se disponen volúmenes geométricos elementales: prismas, cilindros y un círculo que, más que representar objetos, se afirman como masas autónomas. El color, aplicado en planos saturados y sin textura, elimina la ilusión naturalista y sitúa la pintura en un territorio intermedio entre imagen y objeto, entre representación y construcción.
The composition rests on an asymmetric balance of weights and tensions. The blocks seem to fit with nearly architectural precision, yet retain a sense of latent instability. This ambiguity makes the scene a metaphor for the contemporary condition: order is not given but provisional, the result of fragile relations between opposing forces. The central circle, acting as a visual gravitational axis, suggests the interdependence of all parts, as if no form could exist on its own.
From a philosophical perspective, the work reduces experience to the essential. By dispensing with the anecdotal, it proposes a kind of ontology of geometry: we do not see things, but structures. In this sense, it dialogues with Fernand Léger's modernity and with the formal clarity of De Stijl, though stripped of all utopia, closer to a silent and reflective contemplation.
Thus, painting neither narrates nor describes; it thinks. And in that economy of means it finds its critical power: to turn geometry into a language for questioning stability, balance, and, ultimately, being.
About MUMA
MUMA is an artistic duo formed by a 3D Generalist Designer and an Art Historian, both trained at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. Their artistic practice centers on the visual arts, with special interest in color, movement and the dynamism of forms, as well as variations of the environment. Their work is conceived to integrate into space and establish a direct dialogue with routine and human experience, exploring a vital vision linked to the ideals of Impressionism, such as the relationship with nature, color and changing environments. MUMA is connected to the professional world of digital and visual arts in Madrid, with participation in competitions.
About preparation, packaging, and shipping of the artwork:
The piece is hand-signed by the artistic duo and comes with a certificate of authenticity also signed by them. The canvas, rolled up, is carefully packed in a sturdy cardboard tube and will be shipped within three business days after purchase confirmation. The estimated delivery time will depend on the destination and the chosen shipping company.
