Overall dimensions: approx. 40.5 × 28.5 cm

Description:
An outstanding example of modern Japanese printmaking from the postwar era. Maeda Morikazu uses a unique, almost mosaic-like technique to render the vegetation. The luminous pink hills in the foreground create a strong contrast with the rhythmically arranged blue trees of the mountain landscape beneath a bright full moon.
Maeda was a master of Sōsaku-hanga, in which the entire process from design, carving, and printing was in the artist's hands. The very small edition of only 60 pieces makes this print a rare collectible.
