Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained notoriety in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the top ten sculptors under 30 that year according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl Lagasse’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, prompted by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to merge his tags with his collages.
