Quartere repeater chronograph pocket watch, in a full 18k yellow gold case with a mechanical movement and a 50 mm diameter, dating to the late 19th century (ca. 1880–1890), in very good condition with minor wear and fully functional including the hour and quarter striking mechanism.

DESCRIPTION
Magnificent antique Swiss pocket watch with hour and quarter repeater complication (carillon), manufactured approximately between 1880 and 1890.
Case: fully in 18-karat solid gold (K18 assay mark visible on the inner covers).
Watch: fully mechanical, hand-wound, with anchor escapement and Breguet-style hairspring.
The mechanism functions correctly:
– Regular running
– Repeater operable via side slide
– The carillon sounds clear and clean, marking hours and quarters
This is a classical 19th-century watchmaking piece, typical of the high Swiss watchmaking of the Victorian era, originally intended for a well-off owner. It retains an old inner engraving dated from the 19th century, a detail that adds historical authenticity.
White enamel dial with Roman numerals and a small seconds at 6 o’clock.
Original hands in the Louis XV style.
The movement is clean and complete, with no missing parts or modern alterations.
Condition:
Very good state of preservation for its age.
Small, normal signs of wear on the case consistent with over 130 years.
