Description from the seller

Thomas Consani (born in 1970)
New York [Shooting], 1994
Silver gelatin print
Format: 30x40 cm (sheet), 37x24 cm (image)
Located, dated, and signed by the photographer on the back.

From a young age, Thomas Consani was immersed in the world of black and white photography; his father, Patrick, is a renowned film printer. He learned to use the darkroom at 17 during a workshop in a laboratory and was hired following this experience, which excited him.
He quickly refines his perspective through contact with the artists he works with: Dominique Tarlé, Tony Frank, and Marc Riboud, for whom he becomes the designated shooter in 1993 until his passing. 'Understanding the author's intention is paramount,' he specifies, while continuing, 'the photographer is the composer and the shooter, the interpreter'.
Thomas Consani is now a recognized and passionate shooter, working for a major Parisian laboratory to enhance the images of renowned photographers with his expertise. At the same time, he is a photographer himself, transitioning from the darkroom to outdoor settings, with his eye fixed on the lens. Here is a selection of prints produced during trips to New York in 1994, 1999, and 2010, photographs which he has obviously taken himself, including both the shots and the silver gelatin prints in black & white.
