At the back there are various handwritten inscriptions by the artist: "In the house lit by light, the diligences to the Riviera paused—for the changing of horses—an ancient depot of carriages"

Biography
He was born in Genoa in 1905 and attended the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts with distinction, soon beginning to paint from life, in close contact with nature.
Designates a studio and dwelling at 5/16 Via Trento.
Their preferred subjects are landscapes and seascapes, especially beautiful views of the Ligurian Riviera, rich in detail and luminosity; they also execute views of Genoa and the port.
To remember also his activity as an art critic and as a collaborator of important newspapers and specialized magazines. Many have written about his Art; in particular Nicola Ghiglione, who has underscored his deep sensitivity in interpreting the natural element, the masterful use of color, and the evident originality. Vaccari also paints with a spatula, often creating effects that can be broadly likened to Divisionism. Numerous solo exhibitions he has mounted in various Italian cities: in Genoa at the Rotta, Ranzini, Guidi Galleries; in Milan, Galleria Geri; in Turin, Bergamo, Bologna, etc.
He also participated in an important exhibition as part of the Celebrations of “Italy ’61”, Palazzo Chiablese, Turin, presenting numerous works. He continues tirelessly his exhibition activity: National Exhibition “La Collina Italiana”, Casale; Exposition de la Peinture Italienne “Modern Arte Centre”, Zurich, 1965; Art Gallery of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome, 1964, International Genoa Fair, September 1964; European International Exhibition Arte Ancona, 1967, etc. Works by Leandro Vaccari are found in important Italian and foreign collections: Paris, Zurich, London, New York, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, etc. He has obtained various and important recognitions: Academico di Merito of the “500”, Rome; Academico di Merito of the “Tiberina”, Rome; of the Free World International Academy Dearborn, Michigan, USA. Genoa 1905 – 1979.
