Two South American flags
1. Beautiful old fabric flag of Chile (La Estrella Solitaria). Executed in blue, white and red with a sewn-on white star in the blue field (no printing).
The flag is made of fabric (cotton or cotton blend) and has visible signs of wear such as light discoloration, see photos for the condition.
No damages.
Size: 150 x 116 cm
2. Argentine flag from the 1970s. The flag consists of three horizontal bands in light blue, white and light blue, with in the center the distinctive Sun of May.
The material is mixed: the blue parts are made of synthetic fabric, while the white middle part is cotton. This type of material combination was characteristic of flags from this period. The sun is printed by screen printing on the cotton area. The flag is used.
Size: 94 x 147 cm
Both countries were first inhabited by indigenous peoples. The main people in both countries: the Mapuche, they lived mainly in the south of Chile and Argentina.
The Christ of the Andes stands there to celebrate peace between Chile and Argentina after they almost went to war over their border.
