Description from the seller

Half-binding in leather and marbled paper with signs of wear at the corners. Gold tooling and a gilded title in a red box on the spine. Red speckled edges.

1 white leaf, 426, 2 white leaves, [1], 1 white leaf

First edition printed by Grifio of this Ovidian work including: Heroides; Auli Sabini, ut creditur, epistolae tres; Elegiarum libri tres; De arte amandi, libri tres; De Remedio amoris libri duo; In Ibin; Ad Liviam, de morte Drusi; De nuce; De medicinae faciei; Fragmenta...; Carmen ad Pisonem; Halieutica.

Beautiful printer’s mark at the title page and at the end of the volume, and numerous finely wood-engraved initial letters. Ex libris on the first white sheet and note of ownership on the first flyleaf. Title page restored with a paper patch in the lower half and a small hole corresponding to the last A of "Amatoria"; the following leaf also shows a paper reinforcement added to the lower part. Small tear at the top of p. 17. Foxing along the inner lower margin from pp. 192–212 that darkens and expands from p. 283 to the end; another more faded foxing that yellows the pages in the upper part from p. 361 to the end. Overall good general condition: a bit of yellowing of the pages but still very usable and complete.
