One of 50 copies on Chine paper, numbered and signed by the publisher (No. 10). Large margins not cropped, covers preserved.

Well complete with the frontispiece etched by Bracquemond.
Copy peppered with:
- a second state of the frontispiece on Chine before the letter (under serpentine)
- two engraved portraits of the author taken from two other editions, original engravings by Duponchel and an anonymous engraver (on laid and on heavy laid paper).

Elegant paper bound in full English green morocco leather signed Sterckval. Spine with five raised bands, compartments decorated with floral motifs, corner ornaments in floral spandrels, panels edged with double gold fillets and wide chasses decorated with roulette.
