Alfonso Ortuño (1925-2011) - Paisaje

The Catalan painter, based in Godella, Alfonso Ortuño (Barcelona, 1925 – Godella, 2011), who refined his technique at the Circulo de Bellas Artes, moved to Valencia at the age of ten and began painting at a very young age.

Ortuño was a contemporary of painters such as Bronchú de Godella, Mir, Segrelles, or Berenguer, and belonged to a generation of artists who began in impressionism and evolved into their own distinctive style.

The body of work by Alfonso Ortuño, although he went through a somewhat gray period, in his maturity color became the main protagonist. The spatula was his brush in many of his works—his landscapes, rainy scenes, seascapes, portraits, or still lifes—and he painted Mediterranean scenes inspired by his feelings.
