Description from the seller

This painting presents a striking cubist composition that explores identity, duality, and emotional complexity through bold geometry and vivid color contrasts.

At the center of the composition, a stylized female figure emerges with an elongated neck and a calm yet introspective gaze. Her face is softly modeled compared to the angular structure below, creating a visual tension between organic humanity and constructed form. The eyes are deep and contemplative, subtly asymmetrical, suggesting inner reflection or quiet resilience.

In her arms, she holds a fragmented, mask-like face rendered in sharp geometric planes. This second face appears divided—one eye darker and more shadowed, the other clearer and more open—symbolizing duality, hidden emotion, or the coexistence of strength and vulnerability. The angular shapes intersect in dynamic diagonals, enhancing the sense of psychological depth and layered identity.
Mihai Denis, born in 1969, is a modernist painter with a distinct artistic path and an unmistakable vision. Trained at the School of Arts in his hometown and furthering his studies at the Institute of Fine Arts, the artist combines classical elements with modern innovation, creating works with a strong emotional charge. His widespread recognition is materialized in the presence of his works in many of the most prestigious private collections in the world, as well as in Romania.
