Description from the seller
Set of 9 Delft earthenware plates – "fan" pattern – 18th century
Coherent ensemble of 9 antique Delft porcelain plates, decorated with the famous "fan" motif, typical of Dutch production in the 18th century (c. 1760–1790).
The plates are painted in cobalt blue on a white background, with a central stylized fan design, surrounded by finely drawn floral and botanical motifs. The rims are outlined with a ochre-yellow border, characteristic of Delft productions of that period.
Composition of the set:
4 large plates – diameter approx. 31 cm (numbers 1 to 4)
3 medium plates – diameter approx. 23 cm (numbers 5 to 7)
2 small plates / bowls – diameter approx. 13 cm (numbers 8 and 9)
Marks:
Handwritten blue marks on the reverse, attributable to Delft workshops
Condition:
Condition consistent with age
Nicks and small chips visible on some rims (see detailed photos where it is clearly visible)
Some glaze pinholes and glaze wear
Overall sound, stable and decorative - no cracks
These alterations are common and accepted for Delftware over 230 years old and do not diminish the decorative and historical value of the set.
The photos are an integral part of the description - any defects or imperfections are visible in the photos
