Plant table - Subtle, like a Greek column. - Oak - Pedestal

Beautiful and decorative pedestal / plant stand. The pedestal is 63 cm tall and the bottom plate has a diameter of 25 cm. The top plate has a diameter of 18 cm. The weight is over 2.5 kg. The pedestal likely dates from the 1970s or 1980s of the previous century (it could be slightly older).
The pedestal is executed subtly and elegantly, and is clearly inspired by the Greek columns of antiquity. The pedestal consists of a beautifully turned shaft (see photos). The wood used is oak. The wood has the typical beautiful figured grain that makes oak so attractive. It is very elegant and of good quality.

The pedestal still looks very nice and the wood has a beautiful, glossy finish. There are hardly any signs of wear visible. The top surface has a hole in the middle. This is where the tip of the lathe chuck has rested, and it is probably also the point where the top was screwed onto the stem, or where a wooden dowel joint was made. The classic shape gives the pillar a very handsome and chic appearance. Especially with a statue, it becomes a majestic whole (see photos)!

The pedestal can be used in several ways. It can serve as a plant stand, where it’s very beautiful to place a large plant with trailing greenery on it. Because of the height of the furniture, such a plant really stands out. You can also place a piece of artwork on the pedestal (see photos). A sculpture or a vase is especially showcased on this beautiful pedestal. You could even use it as a very narrow side table, although it isn’t really designed for that.
