Massive sterling silver mirror 900, Orhan Kenan, Turkey 412 g
Superb hand mirror / vanity mirror in solid silver 900/1000, made in Turkey by the silversmith Orhan Kenan, whose hallmark is visible on the back.
This beautiful circular object, 15 cm in diameter, is richly repoussé and hand-chiseled.
The back features a remarkable radiating floral rosette decoration, composed of palmettes, scrolls and stylized tendrils around a central raised cabochon.
The base is finely hammered, which enhances the play of light and depth of the decoration.
The front face is fitted with a mirror, framed by a repetitive frieze of shells and stars.
It retains its original chain allowing hanging.
Its substantial weight of 412 g makes it a particularly sought-after piece, both for its silver value and for its decorative quality.
